Ted and Robin become "friends with benefits" to deal with conflicts they're having around the apartment; and Marshall attempts to get over the fear and embarrassment he faces when he carries a magazine to the bathroom at work.
Three Days of Snow+
A blizzard hits New York City, threatening a tradition of Marshall and Lily's; and leaving Ted and Barney to keep McClaren's doors open on their own in order to score with a couple of college girls.
When Robin realizes that she only has seven days to get a job or she will be deported to Canada, she agrees to let Barney produce a video resume for her.

When Marshall's Fiero gives out just short of reaching 200,000 miles, the gang recounts all their fond memories of the car, saying goodbye to the end of an era.
Barney takes drastic measures to prevent Ted from moving into Robin's apartment. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily are discovering the ups and downs of having the apartment to themselves.
Robin attends Lily's bridal shower and finds the gift that she brought is out of place. Barney hires a stripper for Marshall's bachelor party.

Ted rents a limo and makes a detailed plan for the group's New Year's Eve celebration; Ted expects to meet up with a woman from work, but finds himself drawn to Robin instead.

Ted goes to a wedding, and meets a girl he's really attracted to; though they spend the night flirting, they agree never to see each other again; the next day, however, Ted wants to find her, but doesn't know how; and Robin admits to Lily that she has feelings for Ted.
